Chapter 1 Oppression
Secret
Our consciousness is a map of the world, written over the course of our learning and traumas, that becomes clearer and adjusts to reality little by little. It is with it that we trace our paths towards our goals.
Our objectives are rarely geographical: self-confidence, diploma, employment, friendship, health… They all require a code of conduct and methodical work, some of which have already been traced in our consciousness. Having never taken this path, our clairvoyance remains incomplete: unforeseen obstacles will arise.
By boldly moving towards our inspirations, we move towards our goals, or towards knowledge that brings new inspiration. Mourning the loss of an illusion often hides a vital motivation. An insufficient diagram exposes you to unexpected obstacles, sometimes impossible or stupid to face. But a spirit of boldness and learning, while limiting our purpose, preserves what is essential: our hope. Thus they are born with better enlightened aims and with more skill.
It is not a question of being reckless, but rather of vigilant, persistent and attentive progress: a new objective can only be born from recent realizations.
Friendship is defined by the relationship between our respective states of consciousness: the closer they get, the more harmony grows. Communication therefore becomes necessary to compensate for the imperfection of any complicity, by correcting, according to the attention and adaptability of each one, the “mental map” of the other—at the cost of a continuous renunciation of one’s own objectives, in favour of common goals enriched by each.
Our intimate ambitions are based on this mental map; if they differ, our motivations diverge, and one may dread the other’s dreams. Dialogue then allows everyone to educate themselves and to develop their consciousness. It is not a question of reproaching each other for anything, but that two spirits meet and advance towards each other!
